A cat sits while you work.
Focus with Hei is body-doubling with a cat instead of a productivity dashboard. Pick a room, set twenty-five minutes, and Hei sits at the window with you until it's done — a serif countdown, a breathing cat, a screen that stays awake and asks nothing of you. Pause if life happens; he'll wait. When the block ends he stretches, the day is counted, and that's the whole app. Hei really does sit like this while we work. Now he can sit with you.
he's not going anywhere
Focus with Hei is built and fully tested — scenes, the session machine, pause and give-up, the streak, the stats, the end cue, the Plus tier. It has not been submitted to the App Store yet: that needs a Mac, a signing step and a review queue, none of which have happened. There is no release date, and nothing on this page is a preorder.
The waitlist below is the fastest way to hear the moment that changes. One email when it ships, and nothing else.
What it looks like
Honestly: the icon, and the session panel at the top of this page. Real device screenshots need a Mac and a signed build — both still ahead — so rather than mock something up and let it read as a shipped app, here is the mark the app actually carries.
The whole timer is free, forever. Both of Hei's rooms — the midnight window and the rooftop — plus pause, the streak, the stats and the end cue. That is a complete app, not a demo with a countdown on it.
Focus Plus adds Tong supervising from her desk, Meow supporting you by napping, and every scene that comes later: $9.99/year, or $4.99 once if subscriptions aren't your thing. Nothing you can already use will ever be moved behind that line.
Planned prices, not final — nothing is on sale yet, and Apple has the last word.
A quiet room and one block of work
Pick a room, not a workflow
Hei's midnight window or the rooftop, free forever. No projects, no tags, no weekly review — the setup is choosing where to sit and for how long.
A streak that's kind
One finished session counts the day. Giving up early is recorded honestly and held against no one, and your best run is remembered forever.
One notification, ever
The moment your session ends, even if you wandered off. No streak nags, no "we miss you" — an app that notifies uninvited has already lost the argument about your attention.
Quiet on purpose
No sounds in this app at all. If you want purrs and rain while you work, our sleep app Purr plays alongside it — one of these rooms is already free in your browser.
A few things I'm promising up front
- No ads, ever. An ad inside a focus app is self-defeating in exactly the way an ad in a sleep app is. The only money here is Focus Plus.
- Nothing gets taken back. New scenes may ship as Plus, but anything you can already use stays usable — no feature moves behind a paywall after the fact.
- No guilt copy. No dying trees, no leaderboards, no scolding for a bad week. A lapse gets a warm welcome back, and that's it.
